GT HO PHASE 3 (More Info)
The
under carriage on the Phase 3 was only hand-washed due to
the fact the previous owner used to wash it down with diesel
which in itself helped seal and protect the under body from
rusting or collecting and holding dirt which certainly worked.
As you see, the under body with its factory over spray and
body deadener is exactly how this car was finished off from
the factory. Not to say they were all like this, but this
car certainly was.
It has been mentioned to me that the car is missing that little
something that most phase 3’s have and that is that
every part is not restored, due to the fact that once a car
has been fully restored it’s restored forever. The hardest
part of all is trying to find a car in this condition to start
with.
Once restored, it is irreversible and can not be replicated,
no matter how good you are.
All parts were removed, cleaned and photographed to ensure
all correct markings were replaced. No phantom markings on
this car. The parts were then freshened up and all markings
replaced with what they used back then, which were Australian
standards colour. This signified the correct parts were fitted
to the correct component and also for the identification of
parts and fittings.
And finally the QC or OK marks which were for final checks
for oils, fluids, etc.
